Erie Steelhead Fishing Heating Up

Went up to Elk Creek this weekend hoping to see some chrome and the fish delivered. We headed up Saturday afternoon and were only on the water for about 4 hours. However those 4 hours were the best steelhead fishing I have ever experienced. The water was crystal clear and very low. I decided on a natural frenchie under an indicator. We got to a spot away from most of the crowd and found a large pod of fish sitting behind a tree. I gave it three drifts and I had hooked up to fish that easily would have beat my personal best, he ran me under a log and snapped me off in about two seconds. But at least we had found the fish. After that madness ensued. for the next couple hours we took turns breaking off and losing fish, along with the occasional landing of a beautiful fish. Below are two of the fish we managed to land.
